4 Ways Video Successfully Showcases Unique Employee Benefits

4 Ways Video Successfully Showcases Unique Employee BenefitsThroughout the entire month of August, people around the world celebrate National Breastfeeding Month. Many companies highlight not just the benefits of breastfeeding but the support that mothers need to successfully nurse, especially while working. While not every candidate will be overjoyed to hear you have a pumping room, it means the world to many others. This is just one example of a unique, specialized benefit that is not necessarily valuable in attracting all candidates. Dont let the fact that some benefits only appeal to a handful of top talent prevent you from sharing how you meet employee needs, especially if those benefits are important to your current team. A perk or benefit that is insignificant to one candidate is bound to be a major draw for another and they could be your next best hire. Its important to take a step back and look at the smaller pictures. Many companies see employer branding videos as a tool to showcase their fruchtwein popular and competitive benefits. However, by creating a variety of short, meaningful branding videos, you have the power to target and land more top talent.Heres why you need to build a video library that highlights unique employee benefits1. You present candidates with real-life stories they relate toWhen you present talent with short videos featuring current employees, they are able to connect to the people behind your brand. They can imagine how their lives will be impacted if they join your team. You also create an opportunity to share stories that show how accessible your leadership team is. Candidates may not immediately connect with the employee benefits, but theyll see their needs will be heard and taken seriously if they join your organization.Even better, this connection is driven home by evoking genuine emotions. When you draw the line between employees stories and candidates personal journeys, you instill a deeper connection to your team.Let you r employees get personal with their stories about your unique employeebenefits.Click To Tweet2. You attract the best cultural-fits by highlighting employee favoritesFavorite perks and benefits will differ from person to person. However, youve worked hard to create unique employee benefits to meet your teams specific needs. One fact your HR team can count on is employees love benefits that round out their personal and professional lives.Whether it is work-life balance and flexibility or relaxation spaces and on-location doggy daycare, your employees favorite benefits attract candidates that are a great cultural fit. Creating short branding videos that spotlight employees top benefits enables you to appeal naturally to talent that shares similar interests to your team.3. You create a meaningful experience by showing instead of tellingIts challenging to summarize what its like to work for a company in just a few short sentences. There is so much to account for culture, teamwork, recogn ition, leadership, benefits, and so on. With short branding videos, you can easily engage candidates in an experience. Rather than trying to describe the work environment, they can take 30-second tours of the fitness or relaxation room. If teamwork and camaraderie are important to them, you can share a video of candid moments between colleagues working in a cozy meeting space or bonding at corporate events. Its nearly impossible to effectively share the details of your companyculture in a few short sentences. Show it instead.Click To Tweet4. You show your organization has a genuine personalityCandidates often want to know how well theyll fit in with the personality of the company before they commit to a role. More importantly, they want to know the company culture resonates with their personality and most days theyll enjoy their work. You have the opportunity to capture the personality of your company and appeal to the personality types that will most likely excel on your team. Candid ates need to be aware of how much autonomy they will have, how close they will work with co-workers, and how they will draw energy in their work environment. For example, companies like Smarkets, know personality is a critical component of success. They want employees who fit well within their unique culture because they know creativity thrives when you feel safe and at home.

What is the best konzeption for a medical resume? If you have work experience in a medical field, the best plan is chronological. List work history in reverse chronological format, with the most recent job first, to illustrate your progression in the medical field. If you have little work experience or are just starting out, a functional resume design is a better choice as it allows you to focus on skills and abilities that are applicable to a medical job. Reviewing a medical resume sample for each design will help you create the resume that is best for you.2. How do you list references on a medical resume? The answer to this question is really simple you dont. Thats right dont list references on your resume, and especially dont say, References Available Upon Request. Hiring managers co nsider this a statement of the obvious. Employers interested in you will ask you for references. Providing a list on the actual resume takes up valuable space thats more useful to show your qualifications for the position. When you review our medical resume sample, you can see that there is no reference section, which is how hiring managers currently prefer it.3. How can you separate your medical resume from other candidates resumes? Two great ways to help your resume stand out are to study our medical resume sample and to understand how potential employers read resumes. Most hiring managers spend about six seconds actually reading each resume. The rest is just a quick skim. In six seconds, most people can manage to read about 15-20 words, so the first 15-20 words of your resume should really pack a punch.Focus on making the biggest impact in the top one-third of your resume, which means making the most of your personal summary. Avoid flashy fonts, colors, and graphics. Instead, conc entrate on a clear design that shows what you have to offer this employer and how you benefited previous employers.4. What sections should you include in your medical resume? As outlined in our medical resume sample, there are six recommended sections that can vary slightly depending on the specific position and your experience level. Generally speaking, a medical resume consists of a header with contact information, a summary statement, achievements, education, work experience, and activities. All of this information should be relevant to working in the medical field and specific to the job for which you are applying. If you want additional help, our resume builder can guide you step-by-step through the writing process.5. What should you do to make sure your medical resume makes it past an ATS?An Applicant Tracking System is a computer program that attempts to match your resume with the attributes the employer desires most. The ATS gives resumes rankings and sorts them accordingly s o the best candidates are on the top of the pile. You can increase the chance of getting through the ATS by making sure you spell words correctly, using keywords from the job description in your resume, and creating unique resumes for each position you apply for. Dont Do These 5 Things on LinkedIn If Youre Looking for a Job

Dont Do unterstellung 5 Things on LinkedIn If Youre Looking for a JobDont Do These 5 Things on LinkedIn If Youre Looking for a JobThere are definite dos and donts when youre looking for a job. You dont want to send out incomplete job applications. You dont want to have a sloppy home office, particularly if you have a Skype interview lined up. You dont want to be unprepared for your job interviews. And the list goes on.The same job searching rules (and dos and donts) apply when it comes to social media, too, and in particular, LinkedIn.By far the most popular social media site for business professionals, LinkedIn has its own set of unspoken rules on how to handle yourself. Based off the Hootsuite article, LinkedIn Etiquette Fails 4 Mistakes That Will Make You Look Unprofessional, learn what notlage to do on LinkedIn if youre looking for a job.Dont Do These 5 Things on LinkedIn If Youre Looking for a Job1. Dont reach out to a tauglichkeit boss before your interview.Imagine that you rea d a job description and it just speaks to you. You know that this is the job youve been searching for all along, and its destiny that you are meant to be chosen for the position. So in an effort to secure the position, you do some research, find out the name of your potential boss, and search forthat persononline. (Hey, arent all recruiters and hiring managers doing the same thing?)But you take it one step further and send him an invitation to connect. Thing is, you shouldnt try to establish a connection before an interview (or even when youre submitting a job application). This is one occasion when you just need to wait it out until youre contacted by a hiring manager or boss to interview.2. Dont look for love in all the wrong places (i.e., LinkedIn). Sure, some people use social media to score a date or look for a long-lost love. Thats fine for some sites, but not LinkedIn.This social media platform should be used for business purposes- and business purposes only. That means recon necting with former bosses (not old flames) and creating new connections with people in your industry.3. Dont endorse people you dont know.In todays world of work, people arent just workers Theyre brand ambassadors for themselves. So dont risk jeopardizing your brand- and your reputation- by making moves that could cause a hiring manager to question your credibility.Thats why you should only endorse people you know and can vouch for on LinkedIn.4. Dont send out generic connection requests.Lets say that youre just starting out on LinkedIn and you need to boost your connections. In an effort to expedite the process, you might be tempted to crank out generic Id like to connect on LinkedIn requests to everyone in your address book. The problem with that, though, is that some former coworkers and bosses might not remember you off the bat.Instead, you should try to customize each invitation to help spark peoples memories of who you are and how they know you. Yes, its more time-consuming, but in the end youll be more likely to get a greater number of accepted invites and quality connections.5. Better yet, dont connect with those you have nothing in common with. The important thing to remember about LinkedIn is that its not a popularity contest. After 500 connections, LinkedIn stops counting- even if you might not. This isnt Facebook, and having 3,787 friends doesnt make you any cooler on LinkedIn than having a few hundred solid contacts and connections. In fact, it might dilute your social media presence to have connections that make no sense with what you and your brand areabout. So try to focus on having contacts that have a direct connection with the type of job youre looking for and are relevant to your industry. There are so many things to remember to do (and not do) when youre job searching. But try to keep these tips in mind to make the most out of your LinkedIn experience. It can help make your job search that much smoother- and your LinkedIn profile that much s tronger and attractive to potential bosses.Readers, what etiquette tips do you follow on LinkedIn when looking for a job? 3 Reasons You Dont Fit in at Your Office-The Muse

3 Reasons You Dont Fit in at Your Office-The Muse3 Reasons You Dont Fit in at Your Office-The MuseWhen you abflug a new job, you inherit mora than a desk and a docket of responsibilities. Unless youre freelancing or working solo, your job will also include a cast of colleagues (a.k.a., characters) who youll be working with day in and day out. Ideally, youll bond with your new team. Sure, you might find one or two people grating, but overall, you should have a few people you like to talk to each morning. However, thats not always the case. My friend recently started a new job and felt like her co-workers just werent that into her- personally. No one welches hostile, but they werent pausing at her desk to chat or asking her to join their book club either. Are you dealing with something similar? Here are a few common reasons you might feel like dont you fit in at your new job, and the steps you can take to build a friendlier bond with your co-workers.1. They Make You Feel Old (or Young) This is not another article on how Boomers suck at email and Millennials should act less like the characters on Girls. Because, personally, Ive never dealt with these overblown stereotypes. What I have seen is people defaulting to hang out with co-workers who are close in age. The Gen X married folks assume the 20-somethings have no interest in grabbing breakfast before work to discuss strategies for entertaining a bunch of five-year-olds at a birthday party. The new grad assumes the middle-aged parent wouldnt be able to join the group for a drink- because wouldnt that take some sort of babysitter coordination not worthy of a last-minute happy hour? So, the new colleague of a different generation (you) is left out of social activities out of an assumed disinterest. While you could keep your work and social lives entirely separate, the rapport built during these sorts of gatherings matters. But start where you are- in the office. Before you set your sights on happy hour or book club, begin small by building more bonds within the confines of the workplace. Next time you have a meeting, take a moment to ask your colleagues how theyre doing and hold a warm conversation (regardless of whether their lives mirror yours a decade ago or 15 years from now). Be your fun, creative, brilliant, welcoming self, and create friendships during the day. Its likely that one of those office friendships will turn into an invite to happy hour or book club or a birthday party- and at the very least, youll feel like you fit in at work. 2. They Make You Feel PoorIts disconcerting when you feel like youre the economic outcast of the group. Your co-workers go out to eat practically every day, but you cant afford that. They want to celebrate a win at a fancy restaurant, order lots or drinks, and split the check, while you dont really want to drop $75 for your $12 app.So, you keep saying no for financial reasons. But your colleagues interpret it as you not wanting to spend time with them. A fter a period of time, they eventually stop asking. However, a permanent disinvite is not the best solution here. In fact, your best bet is to be more involved socially, by offering to pitch in with planning and suggesting alternate (i.e., less expensive) options. Ask if everyone would be up for eating outside, somewhere they could buy lunch and you could brown bag it. Or, if its around holiday time, suggest an office Secret Santa in lieu of expensive gifts, and so forth. And if a certain clique of colleagues still chooses to bond over mani-pedis and golf games, dont sweat it. (But do remember how excluded you felt when the designer shoe is on the other foot and youre making more money than your co-workers.)3. They Make You Feel DifferentIm a reality TV fan, and I once had a co-worker who made comments all the time that made me feel like I didnt fit in. You know, saying offhand that people who watch these shows arent smart enough to read, or that people who spend their leisure time this way or that way are somehow less interesting. Frankly, I dont know why the very same knowledge or hobbies that can make you appear warm and pop-culture savvy in some groups is counted against you as idiocy in others- but it happens.Of course, its totally OK to have different hobbies or interests than your new team, but if you feel judged- or are the one doing the judging- it closes the door for you to connect beyond your work self and build a bond. But instead of feeling like the only way to connect is to pipe up on every subject (for better or worse), wait for the exchanges on topics you do find engaging. Then, feel free to join in and get to know your colleagues better. Assuming you took the time to learn about the companys culture before accepting the offer, odds are high that youll discover you actually have a lot in common with your new co-workers. Sometimes, it just takes more than a few conversations to figure it out.No one wants to feel left out at work. So if youre not quite clicking with your new colleagues, do a self-check and see if the tips above will help smooth the way to better social interactions.Photo of woman alone on swing courtesy of Shutterstuck.
